Roland Garuli
Contact:

Roland Garuli is a Canadian artist who was born in Tirana, Albania in 1961. He studied at the Tirana School of Fine Arts, graduating in 1980. In 1982, at the age of 21, his artistic pursuits were temporarily interrupted while he served in the Albanian army for two obligatory years. After that, he returned to paint in a more restrained manner, much closer to the style of Braque, Kandinsky, and Chagall. In 1991 Roland held his first personal exhibition in the National Gallery of Fine Arts, Albania. He adventurously indulged in the medium of monotype. His images were light, subtle, and airy. Yet, the spontaneity of the impression process demanded gesture, expressiveness, directness, lushness, and sensuality in working with living paint and color. Other art exhibitions will follow Roland’s artistic career in Italy and present in Montreal-Canada.
His paintings will be on display at the Reginald Dawson Library until January 6, 2023
